Comment on Light-hearted ‘Six Degrees of Freedom’ a piece to take seriously

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga hasn't hit theaters yet, but its director, George Miller, has already been spitballing ideas for the character's next chapter in the franchise. Starring Anya Taylor-Joy as the eponymous heroine, Furiosa is a prequel to 2015's Mad Max: Fury Road, and shows her journey from a child of the 'Green Place' to the shaved-headed killer audiences adored in Miller's long-awaited return to the franchise.

After accepting a monumental Palme d'Or on behalf of Studio Ghibli, Goro Myazaki (son of Hayao Miyazaki) made a bold accusation about the current state of anime. Ghibli's award marks the first time the honorary Palme d'Or award has been given to an entire studio, rather than an individual. Thierry Frmaux, Director of the Institut Lumire, opened the award ceremony (via Cannes Festival), saying:

Glen Powell is good, very good in Top Gun: Maverick. Powells character, Lt. Jake Seresin, who goes by the call sign Hangman, may not have quite as much screen time as Pete Maverick Mitchell (Tom Cruise) or Miles Tellers Bradley Rooster Bradshaw, but Hangman goes through a meaningful character arc, which results in him playing savior at the end of the film.

The long-awaited third installment in the 28 Days Later franchise, 28 Years Later, is now going ahead, and star Jodie Comer has teased similarities between the acclaimed first outing and the sequel. Speaking recently with Total Film, Comer, who will star in 28 Years Later alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson, has revealed what its like working with returning director Danny Boyle, and how the follow-up will continue the themes of the first movie.

Iron Man star Terrence Howard says he felt betrayed and let down by Robert Downey Jr. after he was recast in the MCU. Howard, who starred as Tony Starks best friend James "Rhodey" Rhodes in the first Iron Man before being recast with Don Cheadle in future installments, claimed during an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience that he was the one who pushed for the studio to cast Downey Jr.
