Matthew Aires Genther, 37, escaped the boot camp facility at 3:08 p.m. by climbing the fence. Michigan State Police found him in a nearby unoccupied home. He had broken into the structure and had "what appeared to be self-inflicted wounds," according to the department. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
