Cody Desmond found opioids at the young age of 13, after he had his tonsils out and was written a prescription for Vicodin. Desmond, now 24 and an addiction recovery coach in Lynn, told the Herald’s Brian Dowling how he emerged from addiction inspired to try to help others:
