Desiree Linden overcame daunting conditions Monday morning to become the first American to win women's race at the Boston Marathon since 1985.Linden took the lead from Kenyan Gladys Chesir at the 35K mark and cruised to victory in the 122nd running of famed race from Hopkinton to Boston.Linden, 34, ran solo over the last five miles and broke the tape in 2:39.54, the slowest winning time in 40 years.
