RMV ‘glitch’ gives thousands of drivers a suspension scare

Another RMV “glitch” caused headaches for motorists, as nearly 10,000 Bay State drivers were falsely told last week that their licenses would be suspended for unpaid fines.The agency’s new ATLAS computer system — installed earlier this year so the agency can issue new federal REAL IDs — sent letters to 9,737 customers on April 12 telling them that they hadn’t paid outstanding fees and that their licenses would be suspended.
