Championing Rohingya Rights in Myanmar Cost Me 12 Years in Prison. It’s a Price Worth Paying

The world has only recently woken up to the persecution of Myanmar’s Rohingya Muslim community. But I, and countless others, have been subjected to harassment and discrimination since as far back as the early 1980s. Following the adoption of the citizenship law in 1982 that excluded Rohingya as an ethnic group, the persecution of my people became unbearable.
