Stillwater Central Railroad seeks bids from passenger rail providers to operate on a line between the Oklahoma City and Tulsa me

By Jack Money Business Writer jmoney@oklahoman.comWhile much remains to be done, a dream many have to get passenger rail service back on track between Oklahoma City and Tulsa at least has pulled out of the station. Stillwater Central Railroad, an indirect subsidiary of Watco Companies, bought 97.5 miles of track between Del City and Sapulpa from Oklahoma's Department of Transportation for $75 million just over four years ago. On Thursday, it announced it is seeking proposals from passenger rail service providers to add the service to the line. There isn't a projected start date, although Stillwater Central is required under the deal to start offering passenger rail services on the line by August 2019 before being required to pay the state $2.8 million.Read more on NewsOK.com
