Children's learning center planned for downtown McHenry

A children’s education center might be coming soon to McHenry’s downtown after the Planning and Zoning Commission approved plans for Snapology on Wednesday. Joseph and Vanessa Quinn, of Spring Grove, want to open a science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics center at 1112 N. Green St. – near Buddyz Pizzeria and Kiera Confections – that will offer educational programming to kids between ages 2 and 14, according to city documents. The property is part of a mixed-use development on the corner of North Green Street and Waukegan Road in the River Place Luxury Residences building. The programming features Legos, K’nex blocks and technology-based learning to help kids learn to code and build robots.
