What constitutes a legal police search at heart of Oregon man's case

A three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in May that Portland police conducted a bad search of the car Mark Patrick Johnson was driving during a traffic stop. The panel reversed Johnson's conviction for drug distribution. But two of the judges on the panel cited concerns about their own decision.
