As neighbors vow to drive out sex offender, question arises: Where can he live?

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — On Thursday morning, New York Avenue in Washington Park looked like any other neighborhood street.Except for one house.Number 207, now the home of registered sex offender and convicted child rapist Richard E. Gardner, had curtains tightly drawn over each of its windows and an unmarked black car parked out front in which two Providence police officers sat.
