Why Cowboys will remain in Washington for another night following loss to Redskins

LANDOVER, Md. -- The Cowboys are touring the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C. as planned Monday. It's rare for the team to stay the night after a game, but coach Jason Garrett and the players' leadership council wanted to do it, and the schedule worked since this is the bye week. The players were clearly frustrated with Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Redskins, but said they can still benefit from the experience.Defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence said that he brought his family here to tour several museums during the offseason and spent about three hours at the African American museum. He talked with Garrett about the visit."It's been on his mind, but once I started talking about all the Jimi Hendrix artifacts they have in there, he was like, 'I'm sold,'" Lawrence said.
