Comment on Surgoinsville Christmas parade beat the snow

SURGOINSVILLE — The 2018 Surgoinsville Christmas parade came and went Saturday before the wintry weather and snow hit, although the parade goers and participants in the Hawkins County town and outlying communities braved temperatures in the 40s during the parade. It started just after 11 a.m. under the direction of Surgoinsville Mayor Merrell Graham. The parade, recorded in its entirety on a Facebook Live video on the Kingsport Times News Facebook page, staged between the First United Methodist Church and First Baptist Church on Old Stage Road and headed west.
