Metal Gear Solid: The Board Game has been officially announced by Konami and IDW Games for a 2019 release. Revealed through IDW Games, the tabletop game is designed by Emerson Matsuuchi, who previously designed the Century game series, Reef and Specter Ops. It will feature miniatures designed by sculptor Francesco Orrù and art from comic artist Kenneth Loh. Described as a fully cooperative miniatures board game, it tells the story of the first Metal Gear Solid originally released on the PlayStation in 1998, letting players take on the roles of Solid Snake, Meryl Silverburgh, Otacon and Gray Fox.
