CUMBERLAND — One person is dead after an early-morning crash on Route 295 in Cumberland on Friday, according to the state police.The state police identified the victim as John Jenkins, 65, of Smithfield.Jenkins was heading south at about 1:15 a.m. when he lost control, went off the road into the median and hit several trees, according to Rhode Island State Police spokeswoman Laura Meade Kirk.
