Winter storm burying Maine under heavy snow

A major winter storm blew into Maine overnight Sunday bringing with it high winds, heavy snow and freezing temperatures. The storm has dropped about 2.7 inches of snow over Bangor, as of 7 a.m., with the highest reported total in eastern Maine in East Surry, where 5.8 inches have fallen, according to Mal Walker, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service office in Caribou.
