A Memorial Day parade and ceremony will be held Monday in Algonquin. The Lake in the Hills American Legion Post 1231 is hosting the event. The opening ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. at Algonquin Cemetery, 990 Cary-Algonquin Road, Algonquin. The parade will start about 10:15 a.m. and go south down North Main Street and turn onto North Harrison Street, according to a flyer from the legion. The Memorial Day ceremony will take place about 10:30 a.m.
