Todd Richardson named new police chief

The village of Lakewood has a new police chief. The contract for Todd Richardson, 55, who has worked as a sergeant in Lakewood the past three years, was approved by the Village Board on July 9. He replaces Police Chief Mike Roth, whose resignation was effective July 8. Roth had been police chief for two years. In his resignation letter, Roth wrote that he “appreciate[s] all that the village of Lakewood has afforded me, but after careful consideration I have made an irreversible decision to accept a new position.
