Free Labor Day concert scheduled for Rogersville's Crockett Creek Park

ROGERSVILLE — The public is invited to bring a blanket, a lawn chair and a picnic lunch to Crockett Creek Park on Labor Day and enjoy a benefit concert to restore one of the city’s oldest occupants. The free event will feature three acts of the bluegrass, country and light rock genres. However, the Rogersville Heritage Association will be collecting donations for the restoration of the 1790s Rogers Tavern, which is literally right beside the park. The RHA owns the tavern and has had its restoration on the wish list for decades. But that dream of a tavern restoration seems like a potential reality now more than ever thanks to recent interest from Tennessee State Historian Dr.
