RICHLANDS — Gate City played Big Blue football Friday night to pick up one of the biggest wins in recent school history. The Blue Devils, coming off back-to-back 1-9 seasons, matched their win total from each of those years with a stunning 34-29 victory over highly favored Richlands at Ernie Hicks Stadium. New Blue Devils coach Jeremy Houseright could not help but smile a little when asked about getting the win and looking like the Gate City teams of old in the process. “We just look at it rep by rep and day by day,” Houseright said.
