Crane Watch: Big buildings for medical school, corporate giants, downtown denizens

Construction on what will be the flagship of Austin’s fledging innovation district is likely to start later this fall. The University of Texas at Austin and 2033 Higher Education Development Foundation, a nonprofit set up to support UT, announced in August that a $160 million, 17-story office building will be built on a portion of the former University Medical Center Brackenridge campus along Red River Street next to Waterloo Park.
