Comment on Vehicle catches fire at Woodstock Post Office

The Woodstock Post Office, 1050 Country Club Road, briefly was evacuated Tuesday afternoon after a vehicle caught fire in the employee parking garage, Woodstock Fire/Rescue Captain Karen Bush said. Crews responded at 1:58 p.m. and spotted the car in the garage. Bush said the fire was put out within five minutes, but the building still was evacuated until the situation was under control. Bush said crews from Wonder Lake were on hand to help ventilate the area, but no other departments stayed on scene. No injuries were reported and the building did not sustain any damage, Bush said. Bush said the incident is under investigation and a cause is yet to be established.
