Colorado is seeing a flurry of 2020 presidential activity, and a lawmaker is trying to open a new window into the state Capitol

Even amid the historic spectacle of impeachment hearings in Washington, D.C., this week — events that Denver Post federal political reporter Justin Wingerter is there to chronicle — the race for the Democratic presidential nomination is beginning to loom large in Colorado. After a long dry spell of candidate visits, fresh-minted Democratic hopeful Mike Bloomberg is in Aurora today, talking to Coloradans touched by gun violence and rolling out his plan to stem the bloodshed. Also today, Elizabeth Warren announced a state director for her campaign in Colorado, while Bernie Sanders’ campaign, pointedly noting it made that move months ago, announced the addition of a state field director. Which begs the question: Where’s Joe?
