Truist closes on $455.5M acquisition of Hearst Tower

Truist now owns the uptown Charlotte office tower it calls home. On Tuesday, Truist Financial Corp. (NYSE: TFC) acquired the 47-story, 966,000-square-foot Hearst Tower, at 214 N. Tryon St., for $455.5 million, according to Atlanta-based REIT Cousins Properties Inc. (NYSE: CUZ), the seller. Truist will rename the building Truist Center. The tower traded for slightly more than $470 per square foot. A deed recording the transaction was not immediately available on Tuesday afternoon.
