An 86-year-old Lincoln man is accused of shooting his son Tuesday afternoon with a stolen gun. Gerald McLaughlin is charged with two counts of elevated aggravated assault, both Class A crimes, and one count of theft of a firearm, a Class B crime. McLaughlin allegedly stole the CZ 9 mm gun from a neighbor’s pickup truck after the owner of the gun refused to lend him a weapon. He made his first court appearance Wednesday from the Penobscot County Jail by video conference.
