Newsom signs order to prevent price gouging during COVID-19

Gov. Gavin Newsom on Friday signed an executive order prohibiting sellers from raising prices on products such as food items and medical supplies by more than 10%. The order, which is in effect through Sept. 4, is a result of the coronavirus outbreak. The pandemic has led to product shortages and long lines at retail stores.
