Comment on Jackie Robinson's first New York residence

Jackie Robinson was staying at the McAlpin Hotel in Manhattan in April 1947 when he got the call to the majors with the Brooklyn Dodgers. The hotel, built in 1912, is now the Herald Towers apartments.
