Two students from the Oklahoma City area have been selected to participate in Bank of America’s Student Leaders program, where they will have the opportunity to apply their skills and leadership abilities to community-minded initiatives in partnership with local nonprofits. Students chosen to partner with the Mental Health Association of Oklahoma were Beyonce Hammond and Sergio Hernandez. “Faciliatating early access to jobs creates opportunities to apply soft job skills and makes a measurable impact in the lives of young people, and directly contributes to their long-term success,” said Tony Shinn, Oklahoma City market president at Bank of America. Beyonce, a recent graduate of Moore High School, will be attending the University of Central Oklahoma and is passionate about addressing the school-to-prison pipeline. Sergio, a recent graduate of Oklahoma City Public Schools, will be attending Oklahoma City University.Read more on NewsOK.com
