Kevin Stitt took action Wednesday to reduce wait times for Oklahomans seeking to obtain or renew a driver's license.As some Oklahomans are facing monthslong waits to get appointments with Department of Public Safety or local tag agents, Stitt issued an executive order to give the state additional flexibility to issue licenses.The Department of Public Safety and tag agencies are facing a backlog due to COVID-19 and the state's long-awaited rollout of REAL ID-compliant driver's licenses, for which there is pent-up demand.“The COVID pandemic has negatively affected so many of our normal processes, including renewing driver licenses and identification,” Stitt said in a news release.Read more on NewsOK.com
