New law will help Colorado employers build on-site child care facilities

Economists have blamed a lack of child care for two major factors in the coronavirus recession — a major reason why so many Colorado women left the workforce and one of several reasons why companies have had a hard time bringing workers back this spring. On Wednesday, Gov. Jared Polis signed into law a bill that will pump more than $135 million into early childhood education and child care, aiming to give female workers a boost.
