Basketball is back for both of the University of Northern Colorado teams, after hiatuses due to COVID-19 protocols within the program or with opposing teams. The records are quite a bit different between the men’s and the women’s teams, but they’re both trending up as the season progresses. Here are things to know as the women complete 10 upcoming games in about 21 days and the men play nine. Opposite skill sets The women’s basketball team has the second-best scoring defense in the Big Sky, holding opponents to 59 points per game, and ranks in the NCAA top 100. Its offensive production lags behind others in the league, scoring just 57.4 points per game, to put the Bears in last place.
