Britney Spears said fans 'went too far' when they called the police to visit her home after she deactivated her Instagram

Britney Spears confirmed the police visit occurred in a tweet on Thursday.ROBYN BECK/AFP via Getty Images Britney Spears called out fans for urging police to visit her after she took down her Instagram. She also said she felt "gaslit and bullied" by the media coverage around the incident. Spears has deactivated her popular Instagram account multiple times before. Britney Spears tweeted that fans "went too far" after they reportedly called the police to check up on her for deleting her Instagram account of 41 million followers this week.According to TMZ, the Ventura County Sheriff's Department paid a visit to Britney Spears' residence in Thousands Oaks, California, for a wellness check after several fans phoned their office on Tuesday.Even though Spears has attempted to de-escalate the situation, some of her fans were viscerally concerned, especially after she changed her Instagram name to River Red before she went dark.In her first public statement since the incident, the singer denied that her followers had anything to worry about.
