Comment on Former federal prosecutor to replace Belk

(By Ely Portillo, elyportillo@charlotteobserver.com) Karen Eady-Williams, who has served as a prosecutor and public defender, was appointed Monday to replace Mecklenburg's controversial former Judge Bill Belk as a District Court Judge.She beat out two former judges who were also nominated for the spot. Eady-Williams was the third-place finisher in a vote among the county's lawyers to recommend nominees.
