BP CEO Tony Hayward To RESIGN On Tuesday: Reports

Tony Hawyard, BP's CEO who's quickly become the public face of the Gulf Oil spill, will be stepping down, according to reports in the British press. The move is expected to come in anticipation of the company's Tuesday first-half results announcement. BP will announce that it has made approximately $10 billion this year, while contending with the largest oil spill in history, the U.K.'s Telegraph reports.

Senh: All it takes is one fatal mistake, and you're out - actually, just the worst environmental disaster of all time. But I'm sure he's not complaining, especially with his $18M severence package. It's still a mystery to me why these CEO's get paid so much when they f'd things up.
