Stories Related to Consideration Nears For Polk Street Grant

Amarillo City Council next week will consider pursuing a $17.6 million federal grant to revamp Polk Street to create a more pedestrian friendly downtown, tie into the Rock Island Rail Trail and also enhance Sixth Avenue. During Monday’s City Council meeting, Melissa Dailey, executive director of Downtown Amarillo Inc., gave a presentation on key elements of a federal grant proposal that could help the city improve the downtown area and help bolster Sixth Avenue. read more
