Dave C. Ireland Jr., the contractor who took deposits worth thousands of dollars from Cumberland, Falmouth and Yarmouth residents before closing his business, is accused of sexually assaulting a female relative under the age of 10 in 2012, according to court records. Ireland challenged a protection from abuse order issued by the Presque Isle District Court to the state’s Supreme Judicial Court, which on Tuesday upheld the order. It was not clear if Ireland was ever charged with a crime, and his criminal record was not immediately available Tuesday. The order was filed in October 2012 by the child’s mother, after the child said she had been sexually abused by Ireland.
