Could Chad Weiberg Be Holder's Successor At Osu?

Berry Tramel My pal Bill Haisten at the Tulsa World reported this week that some influential OSU people are hoping to coax athletic director Mike Holder into retirement, perhaps even setting up an AD-in-waiting scenario for his successor. There’s no doubt that many at OSU are upset with Holder over contract problems – the infamous 10-year deal basketball coach Travis Ford received in 2009 that became an albatross, the negotiating snafus with basketball coach Brad Underwood that hastened Underwood’s departure to Illinois two weeks and the long-standing talks with football coach Mike Gundy that so far have not resulted in a signature. Of course, nudging the 68-year-old Holder into retirement would require slipping the puck past the goalie, and Boone Pickens still minds the net at OSU.
