Christmas came early as Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson distributed $29,000 from the county employees' Casual Day fund to 15 Oakland County charities at a ceremony on Wednesday at the county's executive offices in Pontiac.Give-A-Christmas Year Around board member Jean Chamberlain accepted a check for $2,500 for the charity, which was founded by the Daily Tribune 29 years ago to provide unrestricted money that selected charities could use at their discretion.
