Highway Commissioner Andrew Gasser posted a video to Facebook explaining why there should be a policy prohibiting nepotism inside Algonquin Township. Several county officials are disputing the accuracy of his statements. In a video that spans about two and a half minutes and had almost 4,000 views as of Monday afternoon, the first-term road commissioner highlights “almost $400,000” in salary and benefits paid to the family members of his predecessor, Bob Miller, and the fact that his wife and secretary, Anna May Miller, served on the McHenry County Board. “But it gets even better, because she’s the chairman of transportation,” Gasser said.
