Urbana man accused of selling powder, crack cocaine

George Mohammad, 31, was charged Friday with possession with intent to deliver cocaine and possession of between 15 and 100 grams of cocaine.

URBANA — An Urbana man who was allegedly selling crack cocaine from his home has been criminally charged.
George Mohammad, 31, of the 1000 block of Smith Road was arrested Thursday by officers from the Champaign County Street Crimes Task Force.

Champaign pitching $35 million toward Yards project

At Tuesday's city council meeting, the city will present a "preliminary negotiated incentive package" that includes a combination of tax-increment financing bonds and reimbursements, land, sewer work and hotel-motel tax reimbursements.

CHAMPAIGN — The city of Champaign is considering contributing $35 million over 18 years to the $250 million project known as The Yards.

 

Arrest made in connection to fatal Danville shooting

21-year-old Denzel R. Aldridge, a convicted felon currently on parole, was arrested on preliminary charges of aggravated battery with a firearm and is being held at the public safety building on those charges and a parole warrant from the Illinois Department of Corrections.
