One hurt in vehicle-pedestrian accident in southeast Urbana

An Airlife helicopter was reportedly called to the scene, and Illinois 130 was temporarily closed to allow emergency personnel to work.

URBANA — Emergency personnel were called to the scene of a crash Monday evening in southeast Urbana in which a vehicle hit a pedestrian.

 

Danville man gets 30 years for breaking in to 90-year-old's home, beating him

On Monday, Judge Thomas O'Shaughnessy sentenced Cole Huber, 28, who was convicted by a jury Jan. 25 of home invasion, residential burglary and two counts of aggravated battery.

DANVILLE — A Danville man convicted of breaking in to a 90-year-old man's home and beating him in July 2017 has been ordered behind bars for 30 years.

URBANA — A Champaign County prosecutor has dismissed shooting-related charges against a Champaign man because of difficulties with witnesses.
Assistant State's Attorney Kristin Alferink on Monday dismissed charges of aggravated battery with a firearm and unlawful use of weapons by a felon on parole that had been lodged against Mario D. Turner.
