FORT COLLINS –– Though the Colorado State football program has barely even begun its winter training regimen, developments surrounding first-year head coach Jay Norvell’s squad continue pouring in by the day. From the recruiting realm to Norvell’s efforts to complete his inaugural staff, the seven weeks since CSU’s new chief of command seized control of the helm haven’t featured many dull moments. Without further ado, some notes and newsworthy updates related to the Rams’ football team: Chang’s departure induces staff shuffle Despite being set to serve as CSU’s receivers coach after following Norvell from Reno to Fort Collins, Timmy Chang’s departure has induced an unexpected shuffle within the Rams’ staff. Placing CSU back in the market for a wideouts coach, Chang accepted an offer to serve as Hawaii’s next head coach last weekend –– where he operated as the Rainbow Warriors’ quarterback during his collegiate playing days. Reportedly, Chang will bring CSU special teams coach Thomas Sheffield along with him to Honolulu –– who initially followed Norvell from Nevada to Fort Collins as well. Since Sheffield’s exit, the Rams wasted no time replacing their special teams coach.
