Cubs Moving Class A Affiliate To Myrtle Beach

CHICAGO (AP) — The Chicago Cubs are moving their top Class A affiliate from Daytona in the Florida State League to Myrtle Beach in the Carolina League. The team made the announcement Tuesday. Cubs President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein says the team thinks the Carolina League is the best high-A league for its purposes and provides the best situation for the organization's minor league players and their development. Myrtle Beach, which has played in the Carolina League since the team's inception in 1999, was previously affiliated with the Atlanta Braves and Texas Rangers. Daytona had served as the Cubs' home for their high-Class A farm team for the past 22 years.Read more on NewsOK.com
