JOHNSON CITY — One night after Dobyns-Bennett’s pitching staff walked 16 batters, Jackson McDavid gave a free pass to Science Hill leadoff hitter Caleb Marmo. But that was the only walk by the Indians’ starting pitcher until the seventh inning, and his complete game was a big part of D-B’s 8-3 win over the Hilltoppers on Tuesday night at TVA Credit Union Ballpark. “It was an outstanding game to bounce back after a tough loss,” said D-B coach Ryan Wagner, whose Indians took over sole possession of first place in the Big 7 Conference baseball race. Science Hill coach Ryan Edwards said the Indians did what they needed to do. “They got hits together in that one inning,” Edwards said.
