About 1,000 fathers and daughters from across Northeast Florida are expected to attend Girls Inc. of Jacksonville's seventh annual Daddy Daughter Dance Saturday. The sold-out event will celebrate the positive impact of fathers and raise funds for the nonprofit, which empowers girls at risk of failing academically or making poor life choices, according to a news release. The dance will be offer the girls a “prom-like” atmosphere with a plated dinner, dessert, professional photography, raffle prizes and a silent auction. read more
