DALLAS — Over 500 Dallas Middle School students were moved to the high school auditorium due to a faulty fire alarm. Superintendent Thomas Duffy said the middle school’s alarm kept going off on Thursday. The problem was investigated, and Duffy said there appeared to not be an issue in the school’s system. “Randomly, even after school yesterday, our fire alarm was going off,” Duffy said. Technicians were at the school Thursday evening and gave a report on the status of the alarm, but Duffy said he was not confident in the report. “Obviously, we have to have a fire alarm that works properly,” he said. As a precautionary measure, middle school students were moved to the high school as technicians continue to investigate the issue.
