Katherine Waterston and more set as production boots upWith Apple announcing another successful quarter in its financial report today, there’s other good news related to the company: after months of development struggles and casting changes, the film about its former big boss Steve Jobs kicked off shooting today, with Danny Boyle at the helm and a cast that includes Michael Fassbender, Seth Rogen, Kate Winslet, Katherine Waterston, Jeff Daniels, Michael Stuhlbarg and Perla Haney-Jardine.With a script by Aaron Sorkin based on Walter Isaacson’s biography of the man, the film – which is currently going by the title Steve Jobs – will focus on three big moments in Jobs’ corporate life: the launch of the Mac; NeXT (which was introduced after he was removed from the company); and the iPod, launched after his triumphant return.Fassbender is Jobs, with Rogen locked in to play Steve Wozniak, his former partner and one of the co-founders of the company.
