CEDAR RAPIDS — Days after a new overlook and trail network at Mount Trashmore, which officials spent more than $700,000 to construct, opened it has been closed due to vandalism and erosion. Vandals spray painted new benches, terraced seating, pillars, and a wall at the scenic overlook a top the former landfill, said Joe Horaney, a spokesman for the Cedar Rapids Linn County Solid Waste Agency.
