Deadbeat Dad Busted In Blountville With Meth, Cash

BLOUNTVILLE — Negligence in making child support payments has spurred a man’s arrest on felony drug charges, according to police, and the seizure of meth, a motorcycle, a stolen gun and nearly $3,000 in cash. The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon at 473 Beechnut City Road. The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office reports investigators were attempting to locate Matthew Phillips, 29, due to an outstanding warrant for failure to pay child support.
