December Employment Ticked Higher Around Buffalo

When it comes to employment in the Buffalo metropolitan area, 2018 concluded in much the same pattern as the rest of the year: slow but steady gains. The area picked up 7,400 private-sector positions last month, an increase of 1.5 percent from a year ago. Overall or nonfarm employment — counting the public sector — was up a net of 7,500, or 1.3 percent.
