Sgt. Simon Blanc said committee treasurer Jackie Heftman called police Wednesday to report receiving an email, purportedly from committee Chairman Josh Fedeli asking her to transfer $5,700 from the committee account. Fedeli told Heftman to report the wire fraud attempt to police and investigators in the financial crimes unit were given copies of the email that Heftman received, Blanc said.
